The Dawn Age (~30,000 years ago)

With the fall of the first great civilizations new races began to emerge and stake their claim, marking the start of the Dawn Age. First, the elves and dwarves established their kingdoms, though they were, and still are, insular peoples with little interest in affairs beyond the borders of their realms. At this time legend says that the good metallic and evil chromatic dragons that emerged from the Dawn Wars took the opportunity to mentor and influence the youngest races who were just settling into their own stone ages. The earliest humans, gnomes, halflings, goblins, orcs and others began to take power, forging their first, primitive civilizations.
